Overview
Desktoptwo is a free web-based desktop that mimics the look, feel and functionality of a local computer, all contained within one browser window and fully accessible from any Internet-connected device. It includes file sharing capability, online simultaneous collaboration, social networking (blog, shared bookmarks, live chat, etc.), web mail (with the ability to include other POP accounts), IM and the full OpenOffice suite, among other programs and applications.

I’ve tried most of these and Desktoptwo is the best of the bunch. It looks the best, has the cleanest interfaces, has desktop-like functionality (drag&drop, interoperability, multi-task, etc.) and even social networking components. The applications are good (some better than others) and the desktop is fairly complete with all of the basic apps that a desktop needs (it also includes the OpenOffice suite through a Java Applet… not great but better than nothing). All in all, this is still in beta but I really like what Sapotek has done and I see more potential with Desktoptwo than I do with the others.
